KAI GEORG SCHOLEFIELD

My work orbits an interest in archeology and anthropology in that it draws from the life stories of 'objects of value' in history, their interpreted cultural value as time passes, and how this currency is spent by the culture during the object's life. In 2005, I began making silvered glass and mixed media sculptures with manufactured childhoods, and my most recent series, Artifacts of the Interior is an archeological find of a lost culture scattered across the landscape of my imagination, whose history is constantly procreating with those I have encountered.
