Lauren Bagliore
LAUREN BAGLIORE (pronounced “bal-your-ray”) is no stranger to design. A graduate of the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Bagliore has cut her teeth at some of the world’s most renowned fashion houses, including that of VIVIENNE WESTWOOD. The legendary designer chose Bagliore to come to London and work at her fashion house after Bagliore sent examples of her work to Westwood for consideration. After proving herself through her design talent and wholehearted work ambition, Bagliore presented to the CEO of Westwood Studios in Milan and was offered a full-time position working with the avant-garde designer at the time.
Working with VIVIENNE WESTWOOD in London greatly influenced Bagliore’s design aesthetic. “I love creating edgy, fashion-forward designs and clothes that are beautifully draped and wonderfully cut,” she says. “I want women to feel sexy and unique, but also comfortable in my clothes.”
Bagliore went on to work with a slew of exceptional New York designers, including ZAC POSEN, where she was a design and sourcing assistant, and for LIBERTINE, where she developed production and first samples by sewing garments, silk screening and heat-pressing. Bagliore also has valuable experience on the business side of the industry, having worked as a buyer for a three- store fashion boutique in New York and in public relations for the Italian luxury shoe and bag maker TOD’S. She styled photo shoots for top beauty trade magazine AMERICAN SALON and such major modeling agencies as IMG MODELS, CLICK, and FORD. Bagliore worked alongside Canadian fashion designer PAUL HARDY as his assistant, participating in all aspects of the business, from performing design-related duties to styling photo shoots, finishing runway samples, and making the accessories for his Spring/Summer 2005 collection, which were shown at L.A. Fashion Week and Toronto Fashion Week.
Bagliore has started her own fashion revolution with the launch of her latest collection, La Risurrezione: Dalla Scura alla Luce, The Resurrection: From the Dark to the Light, which consists of statement pieces designed for self-assured, modern, and fashion- forward women who seek clothes capable of transforming the wearer. Each piece is made from the most luxurious fabrics and specially tailored to make a woman look beautiful, sexy and individual. Her dresses consist of exquisite, delicate draping and are designed to work for day or night; her coats are statement pieces, combining elements of edginess and femininity.
GIVING BACK
LAUREN BAGLIORE DESIGN HOUSE promises to not only set an industry standard for impeccable, artistic design, but also for giving back. Her fashion from the heart philosophy influences her work, and also drives her business. For Bagliore, fashion is not simply a vehicle for style. It’s also a means of giving to those in need. “In my heart, I feel the desire to use my resources and talents to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate—that is what distinguishes what I do,” she says. “I feel that I am called to give back.” Bagliore is currently working with an organization that is fighting to help end child sex trafficking. A percentage of each piece sold goes toward ending human trafficking globally.
